Christmas Baking

I realized that I LOVE chocolate covered pretzels. I'm excited about baking for Christmas this year. Birdie was over today after having a sleepover. Paul is out of town on business so, David and I are trying to help Alison out as much as possible. We had fun and these are yummy!

At this rate, I hope that there are some left for Christmas time!!

Tuesdays with Eden

On Tuesdays Eden comes over to our place to hang out. They have a fantastic time tearing it up in Ren's room and making an awful mess in the name of fun.
I love the expressions here.
Can you tell that Ren is in a princess phase?

Tree Time!

This is our first tree ever! We went to a great tree farm that my sister and Paul have been going to for quite some years. We picked the tree out very quickly and headed back to the truck to pick us up. Birdie was invited along for our adventure and she helped show us the ropes.

Action Shot!!!

Cutie Pie

Me and my girl sitting in the big truck that takes us back to the vats of hot chocolate!

David was busy tying the tree to the car as the girls and I sat by a fire and roasted marshmallows and drank hot chocolate.

Back home.

I know that we are covering up most of the tree, but at least you can see some of my belly. I will be modeling for a real side shot view for all of you fans out there. Only six more weeks!!!

Day at the Park

I took Ren and Eden to Millenium Park yesterday. They had a lot of fun and I did too. It was a beautiful day..........today is too!!!

Ren loved this thing. An adult needs to spin the top and then the kids just fly! Ren loved it and just wanted more and more speed. I spun Eden and had to lurch toward her and stop it, because she was shaking and I thought she might puke.

Peanut on the mountain!

They loved these things. We called it the mushroom challenge and would cheer when they got across.

What is up with these silly Legumes?

Eden was a little sad and I found her sulking about the fact that Ren loved the speed and spinning and her realizing that she REALLY didn't. We talked about how God made both of them and created two amazing girls that aren't identical, but brilliant and fantastic. It seemed to do the trick. I explained that her mommy and I aren't exactly the same and we're sisters. She said, "Yup, and Ren and I will be sisters when we get bigger!" Then with a hop in her step went off as I started to call after her about the whole family tree thing.......oh well, sisters or not they love eachother deeply. What a blessing.

Dance Legumes! Dance!

This video cracks me up. I rented it from the library. You can't see in this movie, but it is people dancing and it only shows them from the thighs down so that kids can focus on working their feet. It's all different dance styles too. The Legumes had had a successful sleepover and I popped this in after breakfast. I'm so glad that I grabbed my camera.

Dumpster Diving Daddy

David and Ren took a trip to Home Depot today. On the way home David saw an interesting dumpster and inside was this table. It's super sturdy and looks like it might have been used in a toy store. Ren loves it and it works great in her room, for now. I gave her a heads up that it wouldn't in a matter of weeks when we set up the crib in her room for her AND her sister. She agreed and then drew a picture of her bed and the crib in the room together. The hot pink rectangle is the crib the light pink is Ren's bed.

Trunk or Treat 2007!

All I can say is that some costumes were missing and so we needed to improvise quickly!!
We have a punk, a diva and two princesses.
They knew they had it goin on!

I loved Paul sporting the scottish hat that my aunt had bought Christopher when he was a toddler.

Little Princess

As a punk this was Christophers double gun signature pose through the night.

Lyd wanted to be a Diva again this year and I think it's so that she could wear this coat again. Who can blame her, she's fabulous.

I needed to get my picture taken with my girl.

Alison wanted a picture with her girls too and Ren saddled up to Alison. I tried to get her to move, but there was no budging her.

Alison and the beautiful Bird.

We decided to get a picture of all of us girls.

I can't look at this without laughing. What amazing and funny girls and there's another on the way!
