Christmas in Vancouver 2008

Well, here we are coming cross country. Willa rarely slept and..........

poor, sweet Ren was mostly puking.
Willa and I came down with the flu on this past Friday and then Ren and David were struck down the day before we were supposed to fly to Vancouver. We could have used the travel protection plan, but with all the snow coming we knew that we wouldn't be here in time for Christmas let alone any close to it.
Ren was an amazing champ and became very proficient with the barf bags.

Christmas Eve and Ren is definitely not all well, but bathed and smiling while she is wearing her new knits from Aunt Alli. Look how gorgeous those leg warmers are!

Ren loves getting her nails done.

Here is the 750 piece puzzle that David, Dax and Kathy worked on and finished.

We expect rain when we come to Van. Not snow!

The tradition here is hors d'oeuvres and open presents on Christmas Eve and then open stockings on Christmas morning and go to Church. Needless to say we made it through Christmas Eve, but we still haven't opened our stockings and church was closed, because of all the snow. Not to mention we infected the Canadians and now Kathy and Allison are trying to get over the flu too. If you pray, then please pray for us to all get well, and you might want to pray that you don't get it too!

Grandma and Grandpa P. did a treasure hunt for a few of Ren's little gifts.

One of the Treasure Hunt gifts. A gorgeous mood ring. There should be a color for exhausted from being sick.

Aunt Alli and Dax gave Rennie this beautiful Cinderella book.

Dax had my name for Christmas and gave me this great cuddly sweater.

Rennie's Christmas jammies.

Dax received a bunch of running gear, because he signed himself up for his first triathlon.

First Place.

Dax and Aunt Alli gave this cute little bear to Wizz and she loved it!

Christmas jammies. Ren was happy to find out that her cousin Eden half way across the continent was wearing the same jammies.

Nice work Dax. You're wearing her down.

Baby we have not been outside for 48 hours. I have a lingering flu, PMS and cabin fever.

This is a cry for help.

Oh Canada! is looking much less cluttered and the adult to kid ratio more balanced. Tanner is on his way over demanding we play a game with him. Technically the score ( 3 kids, 3 adults) will be even, but I'm not so sure.

Baby, I know. I haven't been off the mountain since the 23rd. I told David that I wanted an outing today and he asked where and I said, I don't know to the grocery store or something.

Grandpa P. you are housing the originators of the plague. Love and Christian charity motivated us to open our home to one of them who infected us all. She recommended calling the police and though it was credited to the ravings of sickness, I considered the idea sound.

Fortunately we are almost all better now and seriously contemplating an outing today.

Merry Christmas! Did you have your turkey yet?

Yes she called for the police to help stave of such scurrilous atacks on her character.
